2009 - 2010 Dates

The Weslaco Christmas Bird Counts (CBC) is only in its 7th year and has already
proved to be a great count, yielding the highest number of bird species of all the Rio
Grande Valley Counts the last few years.

The La Sal Vieja count is located out at the Valley Salt Lakes area and is a wonderful
place to bird!! Please do come and join us for both!!

La Sal Vieja CBC – Sunday, Dec 27, 2009 - Meet at intersection of FM88 and FM186
at 6:30 A.M. for assignments. Bring your sack lunch at 12 noon to Delta Lake County
Park. Free count down dinner (Mexican) in Elsa around 6:00pm.

Weslaco CBC – Sunday, Jan 3, 2010 - Meet at VNC at 6:30 A.M. for assignments.
Lunch on your own. A free hamburger count down dinner will be held at the Estero
Llano Grande State Park after the count around 5:30pm.
