Over 187 species of birds have been recorded in, around, or above the six-acre garden that comprises the Valley Nature Center. To be sure, many of these species are fly-overs or are more easily seen in next-door Gibson Park and its residential neighborhoods, to say nothing of those rare “one-day wonders” that flash through during spring and/or fall migration! This checklist is an attempt to give the visitor an idea of what can realistically be expected during their time in the park, but as this is a work-in-progress, additions and/or corrections are always welcome!

This list follows the 50th supplement to the 7th AOU list.
