Help us grow even better!

Visitors to the VNC have probably noticed that, while the park is beautiful and vibrant, the building that houses our classroom, exhibit hall, gift shop and offices is badly in need of replacement.  To serve our visitors better, and especially to provide more exhibit and classroom space, we need a new building and we have started a major capital fundraising program to make that happen.

The first part of this program is now under way with a “Buy-a-brick” scheme for our Commemorative Walkway.  Bricks come in 3 sizes (and prices) and will be customized with your own message.  Order forms are available for printing off this website: choose one, print it, fill in the blanks, add your check and send it all to the VNC.

The first section of sponsored bricks was laid in a special ceremony on March 23, 2002.  We will soon be ready with the next section but need just a few more bricks! 

We are working on several ideas for a new building and once we have worked out the major details with the city of Weslaco, we will share these ideas on this website.  In the meantime: we need to demonstrate to the city that we can raise the funds.  Join us and own a brick dedicated to a cause, a loved one, yourself – anything at all!
