Native Plant Rescue |
The VNC performs plant rescues when ever notified of a sensitive are with native brush that is being cleared for development reason. The VNC will try to gain access to such places and a team will go in and dig as many species as possible. The plants dug are normally only small specimens, as we operate by hand. These dug plants will be taken to the VNC and potted and trimmed. Eventually these plants will be either placed in nursery for sale to the public or donated to school or civic projects. If you wish to partake in a very important and rewarding task please call the VNC to sign up on the rescue team. If you find an area that is abundant in native plants that is slated for some type of development or clearing, please call the VNC and notify the Director: Martin Hagne |
