Valley Nature Center

Building for the Future

The Project

Nature indoors?  With a mission dedicated to teaching people about nature and the importance of getting folks outdoors, why would we build a state of the art nature center filled with “nature”?  To inspire, create emotion, immerse the senses in nature, and leave everyone with a need for more!  The indoor experience will lead visitors outdoors, across a wetland boardwalk, and into the wild of the nature park… with a new perception and desire to explore, learn, and find nature up close and personally.

For over 25 years we have instilled a need for nature so that visitors will treasure its intricate ways, and hopefully leave with a conviction to save our natural heritage. In today’s fast paced electronically connected world, where kids never taste the magic of nature and the outdoors, our mission to re-introduce nature to visitors has never been more important. The VNC’s long held dream of moving into a state of the art interpretive center filled with interactive awe-inspiring exhibits is coming to reality! In a partnership with the City of Weslaco, who will own the building, and many great funding partners, it is all within reach.

The project is outlined by the various links on the Building Projects home page that you just visited. Please explore the pages to learn more about our vision, the building, and how you can invest not only in nature, but our children’s future. Please join us in this most important endeavor
