2008 - 2009 Dates
The Weslaco Christmas Bird Counts (CBC) is only in its 6th year and is already proving to be a great count, yielding the highest number of bird species of all the Rio Grande Valley Counts last year. The La Sal Vieja count is located out at the Valley Salt Lakes area and is a wonderful place to bird!! Please do come and join us!!
La Sal Vieja CBC – Sunday, December 14th - Meet at intersection of FM88 and FM186 at 6:30 A.M. for assignments. Bring your sack lunch at 12 noon to Delta Lake County Park. Count down dinner (FREE) in Elsa.
Weslaco CBC – Saturday, December 27th - Meet at VNC at 6:30 A.M. for assignments. Lunch on your own. A free hamburger count down dinner will be held at the Estero Llano Grande WBC after the count.
